2019 Annual Meeting, July 23

Michael Quinn Sullivan and Rafael Cruz

Michael Quinn Sullivan offered a quick recap of the 86th Texas Legislative Session, quoting his son's opinion - "meh!"

The Good - Real Property Tax Reform.

The Unknown - Property Tax Relief (is it or isn't it?)

The Not So Good - The Budget busted past the Population Increase/Inflation calculation. By how much depends on whose numbers you use.

Going forward, Mr. Sullivan challenged the grassroots to stay active, and to present a united front to hold our elected officials to account.

He recommend one new opportunity, to pledge support to the Lone Star Agenda (see here).

Pastor Rafael Cruz began our evening by offering the invocation and blessing for our meal.

Pastor Cruz then closed our program with a fiery, inspiring message, challenging pastors to be politically courageous, and challenging the grassroots to "step in front of that line in the sand and lead the charge forward!"

Now is not the time to stay on the defensive! The 2020 Election in Texas is ground zero for the Democratic Party. They have their eyes on turning the Texas House blue, thus controlling the crucial redistricting decisions during the 2021 legislative session.

Pastor Cruz encouraged unity, and emphasized the necessity to back the Republican Party, because the other option is "communism!"

“What kind of government have you given us, Dr. Franklin?” He replied: “A republic, if you can keep it.”
